Refreshments in the Groove

To start the day we meet in the shaded and magical Avocado grove at the heart of Moshav Eiron's agricultural area. Participants will find a warm welcome in the relaxing sitting areas. In the cold winter days, we meet in the greenhouse and sit around the fire, drinking hot coffee before going out to the field on the assignments.

Going out on assignments

Before starting the agricultural assignments, we have an introduction talk to clarify and explain the activities we are going to take part in and to set group and individual expectations before starting the shared experience.

The teams receive detailed assignment files which help in planning how to carry out the assignments successfully. The files include accurate and detailed descriptions of paths and tracks, maps and explanations on how to complete the assignments.
The goal: To cook a meal fit for kings. The ingredients for the meal are earned as prizes for the successful completion of the agricultural assignments.

Assignments

The agricultural assignments, which are the main part of the team building day on the farm, are varied and challenging. You will find yourselves harvesting agricultural produce, milking, orienteering, getting full of mud, planting, running around the fields and relaxing under a tree. The assignments include:  Milking cows • Salvaging a tractor • throwing a pitchfork • planting a tree • Herding goats • Turning a bale of hay • Picking fruit and vegetables • Building a greenhouse • grinding coffee etc.

For example: In order to have meat for dinner you must bring some milk - find the cowshed, catch a cow and milk her, in return you will receive the meat for the meal.

Shared Cooking

The teams will return with baskets overflowing with goods from which the meal will be prepared in nature. Our house chef, Iris Kahana, will accompany the cooking process.

The field kitchens are equipped with BBQ's, gas burners, Taboon (for cooking bread), cooking utensils, 3 types of meat, carbs, vegetables, fruit and plenty of alcohol.

The Participants set the table as they wish, to the sounds of the music, nature and many shared experiences.

Who could benefit

Team-building/Fun day
A different kind of team building experience. The type of experience you would expect: special, breaking the ice, challenging and fun. The area is magical and the employees' shared successes, cooking together, nature, alcohol and music will not be forgotten easily. The picture of all the employees in the cowshed or on a bale of hey will always put a smile on the faces of the people who participated in the team building activities on the farm.

ODT (Out Door Training) Organizational Observation
The Aim: Understating and shaping the organizational culture and language are the initial and basic challenges one deals with when creating a communication infrastructure and a qualitative flow of information between the different levels of an organization. The agricultural workshop enables the creation of a pleasant dialogue among the team members and with other supporting groups. This is achieved through working together, walking in the fields and completing the agricultural assignments.

The means used: Planning and carrying out varied and challenging agricultural assignments which include milking cows, cheese making, picking seasonal fruit and vegetables, herding sheep, salvaging a tractor from the mud etc. The outcomes of the assignments are the products from which the participants prepare a meal together.

What is gained: These activities require the team to plan and carry out a number of intensive assignments which depend on one another, through co-ordination and co-operation among the team members. During and after the activities, the participants have the opportunity to learn together about the communication and behavior patterns within the group and to discus how they can be improved. Such processing constitutes a leap in the organizational communication and language which is acquired and established throughout the day.

Meeting Organizational Goals: The workshop is tailored, from the initial stages to carrying out the activity, to the individual needs of each organization in co-operation with its organizational consultants and with our advisors. The workshop is suited to companies in all fields and sectors and for employees at all levels, and is designed to meet the specific needs of the organization and participators.

The learning and processing of the activities is accompanied by Eli Hillman, founder of the Agricultural Farm.
